UPDATE: Spokane Police Make 2nd Arrest In Shooting Near Elementary School

TWEET FROM ALEX ROZIER: 18-year-old Tanner Caldwell and the 15 year old juvenile were booked for 3 counts of 1st Assault based on there being 3 people inside the vehicle during the incident. The investigation continues at this hour.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE POLICE DEPT: Monday afternoon at 3:15pm, a woman was parked near Whitman Elementary, 5400 N Helena, to pick up her daughter from school. A truck drove by her parking location and the subjects in the truck yelled at the female for blocking the roadway. A verbal argument ensued. The male passenger in the truck pulled out a firearm and shot at the rear window of the victims' vehicle. The suspect vehicle drove away from the location. The victim was able to give police the license plate and a good description of the suspect vehicle.

Approximately an hour and a half later, officers located the suspect vehicle and detained two males they believed were involved in the incident. They are still searching the victim and suspect vehicle for evidence of the crime. A 16 year old juvenile male was booked into Juvenile for 1st Assault.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police were called to Whitman Elementary Monday afternoon after a shot was fired at a car.

According to police, a woman was double-parked outside the school on Helena when she was confronted by two suspects in a pickup truck who began yelling at her about the way she was parked. During the altercation a weapon was pulled by the passenger in the truck and the back window of the woman's car was shot. At this time, it is unknown what kind of gun was used, but there was a hole in the back window. No injuries were reported. 

Police say the suspects are two teenage men, who were in an older red, lowered extended-cab "Nissan-style" pickup truck. 

After speaking with witnesses detectives were able to get a license plate and are currently searching for that vehicle.
