Front line of Fever defense helping secondary succeed

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-Cities Fever defense is hot coming into Saturday's game against the Cedar Rapids Titans. Last week against the Wyoming Cavalry. Tri-Cities had nine tackles for loss and four sacks. Also that pressure affected the quarterback, limiting Stephen Panasuk to 38 percent passing and three interceptions. The Fever know they have to play a full game to succeed.

"We just have to keep up our intensity to play hard and play like it matters to us and play physical D the whole time, no matter what happens as far as they get a big play. We just regroup and play the next play and fly around and make plays," defensive lineman Malcolm Riley said.

"Yeah I think Malcolm Riley's really helped us. Brandon Wilson's continued to play well. You know we're able to rotate Billy Harrison off the bench who gives us a spark. Brandon Rankin's been very solid at nose. All those guys have done a really good job," head coach Adam Shackleford added.
