2 Men Lost On Washington Waters

SEATTLE (AP) - Two men apparently drowned in separate accidents Sunday on Washington waters, one in the Stillaguamish River and one in Spanaway Lake.

The Snohomish County sheriff's office says a man and his wife were in a raft that overturned on the Stillaguamish River near Arlington. Authorities told KIRO the man in his 50s was trapped under some logs and was dead by the time rescuers reached him. His wife got out OK.

On Spanaway Lake, Central Pierce Fire and Rescue says a 55-year-old man in an innertube was being pulled by a boat when he fell out and also slipped out of a life jacket and sank.

A Pierce County dive team is looking for his body.
