UPDATE: Shooting Investigation In West Spokane

UPDATE: Around 8:30pm Monday night officers responded to a shooting at 2500 W Boone. Upon arrival they found a male who had suffered a single gunshot wound to leg. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Initial information obtained indicated the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute although, the victim was not related to the shooter. The Major Crimes Unit responded to investigate the incident.

The suspect, 26-year-old Billy Wessels, was taken into custody just after midnight at a residence at 2300 W Sharp. He is being booked for 2nd Assault DV(2 counts) and one count of Felony Harassment (Threats to kill).

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police are investigating a shooting that happened Monday night in west Spokane.

Police told KHQ that a man was shot in his leg at a home in the 2500 block of West Boone. His injuries are not life threatening. 

Officers immediately set up a large perimeter to search for a suspect, but so far no one has been taken into custody. 

Witnesses told detectives they believe the shooting is related to some sort of domestic violence situation. Major crimes detectives are getting contradicting stories and at this point do not have a solid description of the suspect.
