MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Bail was set at $500,000 for a 55-year-old Missoula man charged with shooting his wife in the face, apparently as she slept.
The Missoulian reports (http://bit.ly/18ZS0k8 ) Mark Byron Tabish made an initial appearance in Justice Court Wednesday on a charge of attempted deliberate homicide. Tabish was arrested early Tuesday after his wife drove herself to the hospital.
Court records say the woman told investigators she awakened "to find that she was bleeding from the face."
Charging documents say Tabish told officers he "was not certain why he had shot his wife," but that he might have wanted to kill her, their dog and himself.
Court records say Tabish bought the .22 rifle on Monday and that his blood-alcohol level was 0.328, which is more than four times the legal limit for driving.
