UPDATE FROM THE ADAMS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: The Adams County Sheriff's Office has made two arrests in the drive-by shooting. On May 13, 2013 at about 5:00 p.m. the Adams County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at 2173 W. April St. Othello, Wa.

PREVIOUS STORY:

ADAMS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: The Adams County Sheriff's Office is investigating a drive by shooting that occurred on Friday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m. The shooting happened on the 600 block of Wagon Road approximately one mile west of Othello.

According to witness, a small, brown car pulled up beside a red Cadillac. Suspects in the brown car fired several rounds at the Cadillac. Several shell casing were recovered at the scene. There were five subjects in the Cadillac ranging in age from age 44 years to 4 years old. All were from a single family.

The Cadillac accelerated from the first shooting toward their residence. The brown car followed. As the driver pulled into the family's residence, additional shots were fired from the brown car. At this time, the four year old was struck in the head with a bullet fragment.

The brown car fled the scene, and has not been located, but suspects have been identified.

The injured child was transported by private car to the Othello Community Hospital. X-rays showed the bullet fragment lodged into the child's head but did not penetrate the skull. Emergency room medical staff was able to remove the fragment, and the child was later that evening released from the hospital.

At this time, it is not known what instigated the shooting as the victims did not know the suspects.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact the Adams County Sheriff's Office at (509) 488-2061 or (509) 659-1122.
