UPDATE: Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Places Detective On Administrative Leave

Posted: Updated:
UPDATE: On Saturday May 11th Lincoln County Deputies were called to a home about 10-miles East of Odessa, Washington where a homeowner there was having a BBQ.

Detective Dale Toliver and his girlfriend were attending that BBQ. Apparently after an argument two people were allegedly assaulted by Toliver. One person is Toliver's girlfriend and the other person is a male "subject" who authorities would not name. The male "subject" is the one who apparently called 911.

Toliver is being charged with 2nd Degree Domestic Violence Assault (Felony) because of the alleged assault on his girlfriend.

Toliver is also being charged with 2nd Degree Assault (Felony) because of the alleged assault on the male "Subject"

On Friday Toliver was arraigned on the charges in Lincoln County. He has pled not guilty to both charges.

MORE DETAILS:

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: On Monday May 13th, Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich received information from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office regarding a criminal investigation of Spokane County Sheriff's Detective Dale Toliver.  Lincoln County advised Toliver was suspected of committing an assault near Odessa, WA early Sunday morning.

Early Tuesday morning Toliver was placed on paid administrative leave per Spokane County Sheriff's Office Policy.

Independent of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office criminal investigation, a Spokane County Sheriff's Office internal investigation has begun into this incident to determine if Toliver's actions violated policies of the Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Knezovich was informed Toliver has made arrangements through his attorney to surrender to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office at 1:30 p.m. today where he will face felony charges of Assault 2nd Degree DV and Assault 2nd Degree.

Sheriff Knezovich stated "This incident will be investigated.  If the allegations are proven, the appropriate actions will be taken.  There is no room for this type of conduct within the Spokane County Sheriff's Office."
