PASCO, Wash. – Washington took advantage of two eighth-inning errors by Washington State to score a pair of runs in a 4-3 victory in Pac-12 Conference baseball, Friday night at Gesa Stadium.

With the game tied 2-2, the Huskies (20-31, 11-14 Pac-12) got a leadoff double from Jayce Ray off Washington State (21-28, 8-17 Pac-12) starter Joe Pistorese (5-4).

With one out, an error by third baseman Adam Nelubowich put runners at first and second. A double steal followed and a run came home when Cougar catcher P.J. Jones made an errant throw in attempt to retire a runner. A squeeze bunt by Brian Wolfe added an insurance run for a 4-2 advantage.

Washington needed the insurance as the Cougars rallied in the ninth. Trek Stemp reached on an error to open the inning and Jason Monda singled with one out. With two outs, Nelubowich plated Stemp with a single and sent Monda to third. Trevor Dunlap then retired Brett Jacobs on a ground ball to end the game. Dunlap, the third Huskies' pitcher, picked up his third save. Tyler Davis (2-7) worked two shutout innings for the victory.

The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the third on a one-out single by Trace Tam Sing and back-to-back, two-out singles by Collin Slaybaugh and Monda.

The Huskies evened the game with an unearned tally in the fourth and pushed across a run in the sixth to take a 2-1 lead. In the bottom of the sixth, Nelubowich singled and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Jacobs. Ian Sagdal and Jones followed with back-to-back, infield singles to even the game, 2-2.

The series continues, Saturday at 2 p.m.
