KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Kennewick Lions baseball team continues its trek to a 3A state title. Kennewick is just two wins away from holding that championship trophy. On Friday Kennewick plays a strong Auburn Mountainview Lions team at Gesa Stadium. Auburn Mountainview won the South Puget Sound League 3A and those Lions are 24-3 overall. But our local lions are confident and excited to play close to home.

"Me and my family go watch Dust Devil games over there and we always say, 'You know I wish I could play in this stadium,' and now it's going to be a good experience. Playing there, playing short stop there, it's going to be a blast," said Vince Gonzalez, Kennewick short stop.

"It's gonna be pretty cool, I know in '08 they got to play in Safeco and that environment would have been cool. But now this environment with us playing in Pasco and us having our local fans being able to be there that's just going to be even better," added Clayten Ayres, Kennewick pitcher.
