MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) - A Moscow man is being hailed as a hero after pulling his unconscious neighbor from a burning trailer house.
The fire was reported at 4 a.m. Wednesday. Moscow Police Chief David Duke says by the time firefighters arrived, the neighbor had risked his life to pull Joshua Behrends out of the house.
Moscow Fire Department Capt. Jason Henrichs says Behrends had made it to the front door before collapsing.
The 35-year-old was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
Duke says one dog escaped the fire, but another dog and two cats died. The trailer was a total loss.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
