FIRST ON KHQ: Shot Fired During Robbery In Garland District

Posted: Updated:

SPOKANE, Wash. -  Spokane Police were called to an armed robbery at a marijuana shop in the  600 block of W. Garland Tuesday afternoon. Police say the suspect walked into the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money and merchandise. He then fled the store, but as he was fleeing, the owner of the shop fired a shot at the suspect. No one was hit by the bullet.

Witnesses said the man ran north up an alley from the store in the 600 block of West Garland.

Police searched the area for the suspect. He is described as a white man in his 20's with a very thin build, wearing a grey sweatshirt hoodie that was pulled tight and a scarf covering his face.
He was also wearing very dark blue, possibly designer jeans.

Police attempted a track in the area with a K-9 unit, but were unsuccessful in locating him.

Police want to reiterate to anyone who may be a witness to a crime, to be a good witness and not to engage suspects. Focusing on getting a good description of the suspect and any sort of vehicle they may be fleeing in helps them out immensely in their investigations.

If you have any information about this robbery you're asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233 immediately.
