Coeur d'Alene's Pereira Named Idaho Baseball Gatorade Player of the Year

Coeur d'Alene High School slugger Levi Pereira has been named the Idaho Baseball Gatorade Player of the Year.

Pereira, a catcher, is signed to play for Gonzaga next season.

According to USA Today Sports, Pereira hit .559 with six home runs, 43 RBIs, 38 runs, 18 doubles and a 1.024 slugging percentage.

Student-athletes under consideration for the Gatorade Player of the Year are judged on athletic achievement, academic excellence and exemplary character.
