SPOKANE, WA - Looking to get away? You are not alone. According to the Global Destination Cities Index the top destination city by international visitor arrivals in 2013 is Bangkok. The city beat out London by a very slim margin. This is the first time an Asian city has ranked the top spot.
 
London is now followed by Paris, Singapore, New York, Istanbul, and Dubai. The only other United States city is Los Angeles that came in 20th place with 4.84 million visitors. Mexico City is the top ranked destination city in Latin America, with 3.1 million international visitor arrivals estimated for 2013.
 
The destination cities in emerging markets expanding the fastest in air connectivity are in the Middle East and Asia, according to the Index created by Master Card Worldwide.
 
In terms of cross-border spending, New York has retained its top rank in the world in 2013 with an estimated $18.59 billion, followed by London with $16.32 billion.

    On Tuesday the woman accused of car prowling frantic parents moments after the Freeman school shooting faced a judge for the first time. A judge ordered Nicole Jensen held on $50,000 bond. Jensen is charged with stealing a purse from a mother who left her car behind to search for her child, then racking up upwards of $35,000 on the stolen credit cards.
