Three WSU Women's Golfers Receive Pac-12 All-Academic Honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Three Washington State women's golf student-athletes received Pac-12 Conference All-Academic honors, the conference announced Thursday.

Kristen Rue, a sophomore from Gig Harbor, Wash., earned second team honors while carrying a 3.55 grade point average. She has yet to declare a major and was recognized in his first year of eligibility.

On the course this season, Rue played in 11 events and finished second on the team with a 75.66 stroke average. She captured her first career individual title at the WSU-hosted Cougar Cup in September, one of her five top-20 finishes on the season. Rue posted a season-low round of 68 in the final round of the WSU Cougar Cup.

Senior Emma Betland and sophomore Linday Harmon each received honorable mention. Betland picks up her second career all-academic honor after receiving the same recognition as a sophomore in 2011.

      The 5-3 guard from Honolulu averaged 15.3 points, 5.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game.  She led the conference in assists by a wide margin and ranked 23rd in all of NCAA Division III.
