Fever Hold "Fun Day" for After school Program

KENNEWICK, Wash. -The tri-cities fever are on a bye week but that wont stop a few of them from taking the field tomorrow and it's for a for a good cause.

After working out on the gridiron, a couple Tri-Cities Fever players volunteer on the playground after school. Lionell Singleton and Brandon Wilson participate in the After School Matters program at Eastgate Elementary and Park Middle School.

"We basically just come out here and just help the kids, we do homework with them. We make sure they do all their homework first," said Singleton.

"We play with them, we do all kinds of activities, organized activities but we also focus on their homework," added Wilson.

Saturday the Fever are holding a free event, Fever Fun Day, at the Southridge Sports Complex to raise money for their program.

"It's going to be a big deal at least we're hoping it is. We're just looking forward to getting out there and having the community just be a part of it," said Wilson.

"And it's something that I wanted to do for the community, kinda get the community involved and kinda see what were doing out here in the community," added Singleton.

Fever Fun Day runs from 10am to 2pm and will include tons of activities for the family, like a photo booth, autographs, and a football skills test.
