COURT DOCUMENTS: Nine Mile Falls Murder Victim Strangled Before Being Put In Acid

SPOKANE, Wash. - On Wednesday Judge James Triplet set murder suspect Jason Hart's bail at $500,000. Hart's arraignment on his first degree murder charge is set for June 18th. The judge ordered that, if he posts bond, Hart cannot return to the scene where the murder took place.

The Spokane County and Spokane City SWAT team arrested Hart Tuesday as they believe he killed a female victim in Nine Mile Falls. The victim's identity has still not been released by the Medical Examiner's Office although court documents say that the victim is Regan Jolley, sources close to KHQ say Jolley is 33-years-old. Jolley was found in a tub of acid.

Detectives believe the victim was killed before she was dumped in the tub of acid. The manner of death (shooting, stabbing, etc.) has still not been determined. That will also be announced by the Medical Examiner. Court documents acknowledge that investigators witnessed signs of bruising on the victim's body. Court documents state detectives believed the victim showed signs of strangulation.

On Tuesday KHQ spoke exclusively with Jessica Hart. She is still legally married to Jason, but moved out six months ago due to Jason's ongoing problems with substance abuse and his struggles with PTSD.

"The man I married is not the man who did this," Jessica Hart said.

Doctors diagnosed Hart, an Iraq Veteran, with 100% service connected PTSD.

PREVIOUS STORY:

SPOKANE, Wash. - A 27-year-old man is in custody after a woman was found dead in a shed on Tuesday morning. He's identified as 27-year-old Jason Hart. Authorities believe that Hart is the main suspect. The shed the murder victim was found in is on a property in the 14,000 block of Autumn Lane in Nine Mile Falls.

Hart came out of the home hours after hostage negotiators, Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies and SWAT arrived on the scene. Dozens of law enforcement responded.

Hart's roommate made the original 911 call reporting that someone was dead. When authorities arrived they found the victim's body in the shed.

A Hazmat crew has arrived on the property. It's not clear if a hazardous material played a role in the murder.

When authorities first arrived the roommate and two elderly people were inside the home, along with the suspect. The roommate and the two elderly people later came out on their own. The female victim has not been identified.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE:

On Tuesday morning, June 4, 2013, at 2:42 a.m., Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a residence near the 14800 block of West Autumn Lane. The complainant told dispatch that his roommate, 27-year-old Jason Hart, had murdered his girlfriend. Deputies responded to the scene and verified there was a deceased female at the residence.

Deputies surrounded the residence and the Spokane City SWAT Team responded to assist. The Sheriff's Office SWAT Team was at a different, multi-agency warrant near Newport, WA. The Sheriff's Office SWAT Team responded after they completed their warrant.

Investigators developed information through Hart's roommate, who made the 911 call, that there was an elderly male and female in the residence with Hart. Both were able to safely leave the residence leaving Hart as the only occupant.

SWAT Team members were able to establish communication with Hart, who exited the residence at approximately 11:58 a.m. Hart was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Public Safety Building to be interviewed  by Sheriff's Office Detectives.

While SWAT Team members were at the residence, five team members were exposed to some type of vapor.  The five members were evaluated by AMR at the scene for the vapor exposure.  It was determined that there is a possible, active methamphetamine lab. at the residence.

The Sheriff's Office Meth. Lab. Team is responding to the location to process the lab. Spokane City Fire Station #1's Hazmat Team is also en route to ensure the residence is safe before investigators can begin their investigation.

The investigation is on-going. Further information will be provided at a later time. The Medical Examiner's Office will release the identity of the victim.
