PULLMAN, Wash. – Ian Hamilton and Jared Welander have each signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Washington State, Cougar Head Coach Donnie Marbut announced, Tuesday.

"We are so excited to add Ian and Jared to our 2013 recruiting class," Marbut said. "Both of these players have bright futures on the mound for us. Adding these two players to our class from the early signing period puts us right where we want to be going into the fall."

Hamilton was the Greater St. Helen's League Player of the Year at Skyview High School. He did not allowed an earned run in three postseason starts, including a shutout in the Washington 4A state semifinal round, to lead the storm to the state title.

Welander was a three-year letterwinner in football (quarterback) and baseball for Shelton High School. He guided the High Climbers to nine wins and the league playoffs on the gridiron and struck out more than a batter per inning on the diamond.
