    SPOKANE, Wash.- Friends and family are devastated and heartbroken over the death of 28-year-old Corey Ward, who was stabbed and slashed by a killer. Ward did not survive and so far, Spokane police haven't made any arrests. It happened on May 17 just before midnight in the 2400 block of West Cleveland in Northwest Spokane.

    CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. - A 30-year-old Florida man was fined $118 and ordered to stay away from a park after police say the man climbed on playground equipment and yelled at children in the area about where babies come from. Otis Dawayne Ryan was taken into custody on a charge of disorderly conduct around 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon in Clearwater Beach, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

(AP) - A SpaceX rocket launched from California has successfully deployed five communications satellites.    The deployment of the commercial Iridium Communication's satellites Tuesday followed the release of a pair of U.S.-German science satellites designed to study the movement of water masses across the Earth.

    Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call Monday morning on E. Woolard Rd. in North Spokane County after being informed a male had made threats to kill one of his horses if his ex-girlfriend didn’t get back together with him. Deputies were extremely disturbed when they found a deceased horse on the property. One of the horse’s front ankles was tied to the fence with a short rope and another rope was cinched around its neck.

"Butch" Otter has appointed 2nd District Judge John Stegner of Moscow to the Idaho Supreme Court.    Otter's office announced Tuesday that Stegner will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Justice Warren Jones. There has been an open seat on the state's highest court for more than five months.
