HYAK, Wash. - Crews continue work in an unstable area along the rock slopes above Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass, which means drivers need to plan for two or more hours this week.
The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews plan to close I-90 in both directions starting at 8 p.m., Monday, June 17 through Wednesday, June 19. Traffic will be stopped from Gold Creek (milepost 56) to Easton (milepost 70). Although a reopening time of 10 p.m. is scheduled, the closure could last longer and push the reopening time past 10 p.m. if a substantial amount of debris comes down onto the highway.
The closure planned for Thursday, June 20 is schedule for an hour from 8 to 9 p.m. The pass will be closed in both directions from Gold Creek (milepost 56) to Price Creek (milepost 61).
Drivers will also experience delays due to multiple construction zones from North Bend to Ellensburg Monday through Friday.
