AquaSox top Indians 6-4 for second-consecutive night

Spokane, WA - A sellout, standing-room-only crowd of 6,991 fans poured into Avista Stadium for the Spokane Indians second game of the season, as the boys of summer fell to the Everett AquaSox for the second consecutive night by a score of 6-4. Yohander Mendez (0-1) pitched three innings in his Indians debut, collecting five strikeouts in three innings of work.

Michael Zouzalik and Alex De La Cruz pitched two scoreless innings to close out the game, as the Indians once again put pressure on the AquaSox in the bottom of the ninth. After Castro reached base for the third time on the night and Alberto Truinfel walked, newcomer Marcus Greene advanced both runners with a sacrifice ground ball. Jose Valdivia then threw two wild pitches back-to-back that allowed both Castro and Truinfel to score for the final tally.

Castro collected two hits raising his average to .429, and Ryan Cordell got the Indians other hit.
