Smoak Activated From DL, Liddi Optioned

The Mariners activated first baseman Justin Smoak off the disabled list and optioned Alex Liddi to Triple-A Tacoma. Smoak is availabe for tonight's game against the Angels in Anaheim.

Smoak, 26, was placed on the disabled list on June 2 (retroactive to May 30) due to a strained right oblique muscle. The switch-hitter went 5-for-21 (.238) during his five-game rehab assignment with the Tacoma Rainiers. He is hitting .240 with three home runs and eight RBIs with the Mariners this season.

Liddi, 24, was recalled on May 29 and appeared in eight games with the Mariners, but only recorded one hit.
