Angels Top Mariners In Wild Affair

Updated:

Yoervis Medina walked home the winning run in the eighth inning as the Seattle Mariners dropped a wild 10-9 game to the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday evening.

The Mariners saw a 7-0 lead dissipate as Felix Hernandez had an uncharacteristicly poor performance. The big inning came in a five-run fifth that narrowed the Mariners lead to 7-6.

The Angels tied the contest with a run in the sixth and the rollercoaster ride of a game continued throughout the game. The clincher came in the eighth, as reliever Carter Capps ran into trouble.

Medina came in with hopes of getting the Mariners out of the jam, but walked Alberto Callaspo on four straight pitches.
