A throwing error by Vancouver Canadians shortstop Dickie Thon allowed Chris Garia to score the winning run to give the Spokane Indians a 3-2 win in 10 innings Wednesday at Avista Stadium.

Garia earned a one-out walk in the tenth, moved to second on a wild pitch and went to third on a groundout. Ryan Cordell hit a two-out grounder to shortstop, but Thon threw the ball away and Garia scored to end the game.

Indians starter Yohander Mendez threw five innings of one-run ball, striking out three and walking none.

Reliever Josh McElwee blew a 2-1 lead in the top of the ninth when Vancouver's Justin Atkinson homered. Ryne Slack threw a scoreless 10th for the win.

Kevin Torres went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI for the Indians, who have won five of six.
