Spokane, WA - Vancouver second baseman Andy Fermin had a crack at leading off for the Canadians tonight, and he made the most of his opportunity with three hits and two RBI as the Spokane Indians fell 5-2 in the final game of an eight-game homestand.

DH Cam Schiller hit yet another double, his league-leading seventh, bringing 1B Kevin Torres and CF Christopher Garia across the plate in the bottom half of the eighth on Sleep Country First Kids Night presented by Sleep Country USA, 103.9 BOB FM, 790 KJRB and Family Guide.

Vancouver starter Bobby Brosnahan (1-1) earned his first win of the season after shutting down the Spokane offense, allowing three hits and striking out seven in five innings. Before tonight, Brosnahan allowed 11 runs in 7.2 innings.

Collin Wiles, making his third start for Spokane at Avista Stadium - this time in front of 3,413 fans - gave up seven hits and three runs in four innings. Kyle Castro made his third relief appearance of the season striking out four Canadians. Spokane's pitching staff stranded 12 Vancouver baserunners.

The Spokane Indians will hit the road for a three-game series against the first-place Everett AquaSox, then head to Tri-City to take on the Dust Devils for the first time in 2013.

The Indians will return home next Thursday, July 4th, for a five-game stand against the Eugene Emeralds. Before the game will be the 4th of July Pennant Run starting at 10 AM, followed by the game at 6:30 PM which features post-game Fireworks presented by NAPA Auto Parts, KISS 98.1, 590 KQNT and The Inlander.
