Zunino Provides Fireworks in Walk-Off Mariner Win

SEATTLE, Wash. -- Mariner fans were treated to a dazzling array of fireworks on Friday night, and it all started with Mike Zunino's game-winning single in the bottom of the 10th inning in a 5-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

With fans waiting patiently for a postgame fireworks show at Safeco Field, Raul Ibanez hit a game-tying RBI triple in the bottom of the eighth inning.  When the game went into extra innings, the fireworks were put on hold.  That is, until former Gonzaga Bulldog Jason Bay put two runners into scoring position in the tenth with a sacrifice bunt.  Justin Smoak was then intentially walked to load the bases with one out.  The former first-round pick Zunino wasted little time delivering the game-winner, singling up the middle to score Michael Saunders from third base.

Alfonso Soriano and Dioner Navarro provided the early fireworks for the Cubs with homeruns, who had their two-game win streak come to a halt.
