Olympia Man Killed In Wreck With Semi

SPOKANE, Wash. -

Washington State Patrol responded to a fatal accident involving a semi truck and a car on eastbound I-90. The crash happened just before midnight, Friday near the Geiger Boulevard exit, close to the construction on Eastbound I-90.

The freeway was closed down to one lane until about 4:00 a.m. Saturday as WSP investigated the crash.

The driver of the car has been identified as 26-year-old Aaron Edwards from Olympia. Edwards was killed instantly upon impact after his car slammed into the back of the trailer and became wedge underneath the semi. At this time, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

WSP says the semi was driving about 15 miles per hour along I-90 in the construction zone and had slowed down for traffic congestion. There were two men in the semi truck, but neither were injured.
