SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane's bullpen pitched 4.2 innings of shutout relief as the Indians edged the Eugene Emeralds, 2-1, on Monday night for their eighth win in nine ballgames.  Reliever Richard Alvarez picked up the win, striking out two batters in 1.2 innings of relief.

Indians starting pitcher Collin Wiles struck out five Emeralds, but was tagged for a solo homerun by Henry Charles and didn't make it out of the 5th inning in a no-decision.   He got two runs of support, thanks to a solo homerun by Janluis Castro, his first as a Spokane Indian, and an RBI single by Alberto Triunfel.

The Indians (14-11) have their first scheduled day off on Tuesday, and resume Northwest League play Wednesday at Salem-Keizer against the Volcanoes.
