PRESS RELEASE FROM THE GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: QUINCY, Wash. (25JULY2013) - Arnoldo Mendoza, wanted for attempted murder for the shooting of Luis Murillo last Friday, was arrested on Thursday at a home on Mountain View Drive in the City of Quincy.

Acting on tips from the public and other information, Sheriff's Deputies, Quincy Police, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team raided the home around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Mendoza was arrested without incident. Mendoza has been on the run since allegedly shooting Murillo around 7:30 a.m. on July 19 in a blueberry orchard west of Quincy. Mendoza fled in a pickup truck which was found abandoned in a nearby orchard and he had escaped an intensive dragnet ever since.

Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones and Quincy interim Police Chief Greg Meinzer express their thanks to the citizens of the area for the many pieces of information which helped lead officers to Mendoza.

GRANT COUNTY, Wash. (22JULY2013) – The victim of Friday's shooting near Quincy is Luis Ochoa Murillo, 23 of Quincy. Murillo remains hospitalized at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.

His alleged shooter, 20-year-old Arnoldo Cazares Mendoza of Quincy remains at large and Grant County law enforcement continues to search for him.

Detectives allege Mendoza shot Murillo several times in the abdomen around 7:30 Friday morning in an orchard west of Quincy and then fled.
