12-Year-Old Boy Calls 911; Helps Family Get Out Of House Fire

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - Late Tuesday morning the Spokane Valley Fire Dept. was dispatched  to a mobile home fire at 2414 North Bowdish in the Valley.

The fire destroyed the home and fire investigators say there were 4 people inside the home who got out safely.

One of those people was 12-year-old Taylor King. King tells KHQ that he and his step father were inside when his step father saw the lights "flickering" then smelled smoke.

King, his step father and the other two occupants immediately went outside where King called 911. King says he also went next door to let his neighbor's know that there was a fire and they should leave their home too.

Fire investigators have not yet determined a cause of the fire. Family members inside at the time say they believe it was caused by an electrical issue, possibly by the air conditioning unit. There were no injuries in the fire.
