Shock Beat Power, Division Title Still Possible

Updated:

The Spokane Shock came out flat on Friday in their regular season finale against the Pittsburgh Power.

The Shock rebounded in the second half to run away with a 61-43 win at the Spokane Arena. The win keeps Spokane's division title hopes alive, something not known until just prior to Friday's game.

For weeks, it has been the assumption that Arizona had already clinched the division, but if Arizona loses on Saturday the Shock could be the West Division champions and, subsuquently. the No. 1 seed out of the National Conference.

Keeping those hopes alive, the Shock outscored the Power 34-7 in the second half. That was after going into the half down 36-27.

Adron Tennell had 10 receptions for 131 yards and five touchdowns to lead Spokane. Erik Meyer tossed six touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions.

The Shock broke a couple records on Friday:

- Terrance Sanders broke the AFL single-season record for reutrn yards.

- Team set AFL record for most victories of 10-plus points in a single season in league history (14).
