Twins Top Mariners In Extras

Felix Hernandez pitched nine solid innings, but the Seattle Mariners couldn't muster enough offense in a 3-2 loss in 13 innings to the Minnesota Twins on Friday at Safeco Field.

The game went into extras after Trevor Plouffe's single scored Pedro Florimon in the ninth to tie the game, 1-1. Hernandez went nine innings of one-run ball, striking out eleven and walking none.

In the 13th, though, Yoervis Medina gave up a two-run home run to Chris Colabello. It was Colabello's first-career homer.

Kendrys Morales cut the deficit to 3-2 with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the 13th, but the Mariners couldn't push another run across the plate.
