Mariners Blanked By Twins

The Seattle Mariners failed push a run across the plate to back a solid outing by starter Aaron Harang in a 4-0 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Saturday afternoon at Safeco Field.

Harang threw five innings of three-hit ball, allowing just one run, but he ultimately fell to 5-9 on the season.

Kyle Seager and Brad Miller both had a pair of hits, but the rest of the team only managed to combine for two hits. Seattle went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. Nick Franklin struggled mightily with three strikeouts in four at-bats.

Samuel Deduno improved to 7-4 after throwing seven scoreless for the Twins. Deduno walked three, but allowed just three hits and struck out six.

Brian Dozier and Justin Morneau both homered for Minnesota.
