UPDATE: The Medical Examiner's office has identified the second person killed. He's identified as 20-year-old Victor Babakov. Cause of death: Cerebellar tonsillar herniation due to swelling of the brain due to contusions and parenchymal hemorrhage due to rotational force.

UPDATE: The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed the identity and cause and manner of death of one of the individuals from the incident at 7 Mile in Spokane County, WA. 25-year-old Mikhail Y. Vasyukhnevich died from blunt head, neck, chest and extremity injuries.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: On Friday evening, July 26, 2013, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Spokane County Sheriff's Office Collision Investigators responded to a two-car collision near 9500 W. Seven Mile Road in Spokane County.

For reasons unknown at this time, the driver of a 4-door 1995 Acura crossed the center line and was hit by a 1999 Ford F250 pickup truck. Both vehicles had three occupants each. The occupants of the Ford received only minor injuries.  A 26-year-old male was the front seat passenger of the Acura. This male died as a result of the collision.

A 21-year-old male was the rear, passenger side seat passenger. He was initially listed in critical condition at the hospital, but has since passed. The 24-year-old male driver sustained serious injuries and is also still hospitalized.

At this time it does not appear impairment was a factor. Autopsies on both deceased passengers of the Acura were completed Monday and identification will be provided by the Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office. The investigation is ongoing.
