Defense Preserves Playoff Win For Shock

It wasn't pretty and it sure wasn't easy at times, but the Spokane Shock are moving on to the conference championship game.

Ruschard Dodd-Masters brought back interceptions for touchdowns in consecutive possessions in the final minutes to preserve the Shock's 69-47 win over the Chicago Rush at the Spokane Arena.

Dodd-Masters' first interception -- which came after an Erik Meyer keeper gave the Shock a 55-47 lead -- gave Spokane a two-possession lead at 62-47 with 2:02 remaining. Dodd-Masters put the game out of reach on the ensuing possession, as just 51 seconds were left when he crossed the goal line.

Meyer threw for 235 yards and five touchdowns, while running for another pair. Adron Tennell caught 11 passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns. Tennell also ran for a score.

The Shock will find out who their opponent on the conference championship game will be on Sunday when Arizona hosts San Jose. The Shock would host next week's game if San Jose wins.
