Volcanoes Easily Handles Indians

The Spokane Indians bullpen had trouble on Thursday, as the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes scored five times in the sixth in a 9-3 win at Avista Stadium.

Relievers Brett Anderson and Richard Alvarez combined to allow five runs in the sixth, as the Volcanoes grabbed a commanding 9-1 lead.

Starter Eric Brooks took the loss after allowing four runs in four innings. Brooks gave up five hits, walked two and struck out three.

Brandon Garcia hit a solo home run and Janluis Castro had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs to lead the Indians.

Chase Johnson got the win for the Volcanoes after throwing five innings of one-run ball.
