Sex Therapist Convicted For Sexual Relationship With Inmate

SPOKANE, Wash. -

The former Airway Heights Corrections Center Therapist accused of having a sexual relationship with an inmate pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and her criminal case is now over. Sarah Brooks pleaded guilty to two counts of official misconduct, which is a gross misdemeanor. She originally faced three counts of first-degree sexual misconduct, which are felonies.

When this happens the inmate is considered a victim, but in this case the inmate said he does not feel like a victim at all.

This is the first time Brooks has been in trouble with the law, but this is serious. She lost her job, she's in the middle of a divorce, she's on probation for a year, she faces a $1000 in fines, and she has to continue with alcohol and mental health treatment.

Had this case not been resolved, Brooks would have faced trial beginning this past Monday, August 19th.
