VET BEATING: Kinard Claims Belton Was A Drug Dealer

Kenan Adams-Kinard in court on Tuesday Kenan Adams-Kinard in court on Tuesday

KHQ.COM - On Tuesday Judge Debra Hayes increased the bond for Kenan Adams-Kinard from $2 million to $3 million. The reason for the high bail amount was over concerns of public safety and says Kinard is flight risk and did not turn himself in.

In court the state said that Kinard stated he was at the location where the beating happened to buy crack cocaine from the victim Delbert Belton. Kinard also says that Mr. Belton shorted them and that's what initiated the attack. Friends of Belton deny that, and Spokane Police say they have no evidence to support that claim either.

The judge ordered Adams-Kinard to be taken to the Spokane County jail immediately.

The other suspect, Demetrius Glenn made an initial appearance in Spokane County District Court Monday afternoon. Glenn's bond was set at $ 2 million.

Glenn turned himself in Thursday night, the same day Belton died of his injuries.

Belton, who was wounded in the Battle of Okinawa, was beaten in his vehicle as he waited for a friend in a parking lot. His wallet was taken.

Both teen suspects will be tried as adults.

I'm more of a dog person, but if there is a place that is willing to pay me to live on an island in Greece and take care of cats, I'll become a feline fanatic.  Well, there is someone offering such a job right now and they claim it's a real opening.  God's Little People Cat Rescue posted on Facebook that they are looking for someone who can look after 55 cats on a little Greek island paradise called Syros.
