Aquasox Down Indians 4-2

SPOKANE, Wash. -

The Spokane Indians stumbled in the first of six games in as many days against the Everett AquaSox, losing 4-2 on Wednesday night at Avista Stadium in Northwest League play.

Jack Reinheimer hit a solo homer in the first inning to give the AquaSox an early lead, and he scored on an RBI single in the fourth by Austin Wilson as Everett went up 2-0.

Everett added another run in the seventh, but two runs from Spokane in the bottom of the frame in the form of a Marcus Greene walk and Ryan Cordell home run narrowed the gap. Unfortunately for Spokane, that was all the offense could muster.

Former Gonzaga Bulldog Tyler Olson recorded his first career save for the AquaSox, striking out one with a walk and a hit allowed in the final 2 1/3 innings. Jake Zokan (5-3) struck out six in 6 2/3 innings for the win, while Collin Wiles (2-6) got the loss.

Spokane plays host to Everett Thursday and Friday before heading to the west side for a three-game series at Everett to close out the regular season. The Indians, at 15-18, currently sit four games back of the 'Sox in the second-half standings. Spokane is seven games back overall at 35-36.
