Spokane Misses Playoffs With 3-2 Loss to Everett

Posted: Updated:

EVERETT, Wash. – The Spokane Indians' post-season dreams came to crashing halt after falling to the Aquasox 3-2 on Sunday.

The Indians led the game 2-0 heading into the bottom of the 8th inning, but that's when Everett took over. Lonnie Kauppila drove in a run on a fielder's choice to make it a 2-1 game. The Aquasox pinch-hit with a man on sending Chantz Mack to the plate. Mack made the most of his at bat as he crushed two-run home run out to right center, giving Everett the lead and eventually the game.

The Indians' lone chance of getting into the playoffs was for Vancouver to lose their remaining games to Tri-City. However, the Canadians ended that dream quickly, by beating the Dust Devils 2-1 Sunday night.

One bright spot in the game was Spokane's Eric Brooks. Brooks pitching six innings of no-hit baseball with 11 strikeouts.

Spokane finishes the regular season Monday night in Everett.
