MOSES LAKE, Wash. -

UPDATE FROM THE SPOKANE POLICE DEPT: On 09-21-13 around 6:00pm, law enforcement officers received information that Anthony Vasquez, a man wanted for a homicide occurring earlier this week in Moses Lake, was at an address at 18100 E Alki in Spokane Valley.

Officers from Spokane Police Department's Patrol Anti-Crime Team (PACT), SWAT and K-9 teams, along with the US Marshalls, set up a perimeter around the house and worked to communicate with Vasquez in an attempt to get him to come out of the home and into custody safely.

Vasquez ran out of the backdoor of the residence and SPD K-9 quickly located him. He was apprehended by SPD SWAT officers after a short foot pursuit in the area around 9:30pm.

Grant County detectives traveled to Spokane to interview Vasquez regarding the Grant County homicide incident.

UPDATE FROM THE GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: Deputy United States Marshals arrested murder suspect Anthony J. Vasquez Saturday night in Spokane. Vasquez had been on the run since allegedly shooting Juan Garcia in a car in the parking lot of Airport Grocery Mart this past Tuesday evening.

Garcia's girlfriend and her six-year-old son were in the car when the shooting happened. Alleged getaway driver Alejandro Manzo was arrested Thursday.

"I give a great deal of credit to the US Marshals Service, as well as the special deputy marshals who are also member of the sheriff's office and Moses Lake police," said Sheriff Tom Jones.

"Their efforts, coupled with the hundreds of tips from citizens, helped get Vasquez into custody, and for that I thank everyone who worked to find Vaquez."
