NEW DETAILS: Arrest Made After Stabbing In Coeur d'Alene

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -

UPDATED PRESS RELEASE FROM THE CDA POLICE DEPT: On Thursday Coeur D' Alene Police made an arrest on Jayde A. Brown, a 21-year-old transient. Brown was booked into the Kootenai County Jail for attempted homicide for allegedly stabbing a 20 year old male in the chest. 

The victim, who's name is not being released at this time, suffered a stab wound to his chest.  He was rushed into surgery yesterday and is currently in stable condition. The victim is also listed as homeless.

During the investigation, Detectives were able to determine that the two men had previous disputes over stolen property.

Coeur d'Alene Police Department Press Release: 

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1600 block of E. Sherman Avenue. The young adult male victim has been transported to Kootenai Medical Center due to the extent of his injuries.

Schools in the area were contacted and put into lock down for precautionary measures due to the suspect leaving on a bicycle. There is a cross country meet going on as scheduled.

The suspect is described as an white or possibly Hispanic male, around 5'7, 145 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes wearing a dark colored beanie cap, shorts, and a backpack traveling on a small mountain bike.

The investigation is ongoing. Officers and detectives will be at the scene and surrounding locations for some time longer.

Roads in the area are blocked off. Avoid the area if you can.
