KENNEWICK, WA. - This Saturday, Kennewick Police and CrimeStoppers will hold a free child safety ID card event.
Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM, officers will be at Sears at the Columbia Center Mall.
Police say have children's fingerprints and information on a picture ID is a good way for parents to have the child's basic information incase they go missing.
"We know that just fingerprinting a child and giving them an ID card is not going to necessarily make them and safer, but it brings that thought to the forefront of their mind and we encourage them to talk to their children about stranger safety and not wandering off from their parents as well," said Mike Blatman of CrimeStoppers.
