UPDATE: Couple Killed On Hwy. 2 Found Holding Hands

UPDATE: On Monday we learned more about the couple who passed away in the crash that happened near Big R, a store where the two were regular customers. Friends say Floyd and Margaret Nordhagen were on their way to buy cat food at the store before the accident.

92-year-old Floyd Nordhagen and his 88-year-old wife Margaret have been part of the Elk Community for decades. They were members of the Elk Community Church and cared for several animals. Their son, Marv Nordhagen, says they have cats, dogs, and cattle he is now trying to find a place for.

According to people in the area, the two were always together and often came to Big R, near where the crash happened.

Floyd is described as someone everyone like, a man who would help anyone in need, and a husband who always took great care of his wife, who suffered from Alzheimer's.

A family friend says one day Floyd stopped him and said, make sure you always hug and kiss your wife, that is something I do everyday.

According to Washington State Patrol, Floyd and Margaret were found holding hands in the car after the accident. Their son says he thinks his mom probably grabbed Floyd's hand when the accident happened. Both died at the scene of the crash.

Although it is a very sad situation, many say it is a blessing the two were taken together.

A memorial service has not yet been scheduled.

KHQ.COM - We now know the names of two people killed in a crash Sunday afternoon on Hwy. 2 about 4 miles north of Spokane. They've been identified as 92-year old Floyd Nordhagen and 88-year-old Kathryn Nordhagen of Chattaroy, Washington.

The two were driving out of a store's parking lot when they crashed into a pickup truck that was turning into the parking lot. Both Floyd and Kathryn were trapped inside their car and they died at the scene.

The people in the pickup truck, Kenneth Voss and Pamela Ross, were not injured. A dog was thrown out of the vehicle because of the impact, but he was found and is okay. No charges have been filed.

KHQ.COM - On Sunday two people died in a car crash on U.S. Highway 2 about four miles north of Spokane, the Washington State Patrol said.

Eventually, Sierra and Josh Davies were arrested for it. Josh remains in the Spokane County Jail, facing 22 charges ranging from theft to money laundering. Sierra is facing brand new charges: prostitution.
