SPOKANE, Wash. -- Former Spokane Indians catcher Jorge Alfaro (2011) and infielder Brett Nicholas (2010-11) have been selected to participate in the Arizona Fall League's version of the All-Star Game, the Fall Stars Game.

The Fall Stars Game, named the Rising Stars Game until this season, pits top players from the developmental league against each other, with the majority of the performers being highly-touted prospects.

Alfaro, the top catching prospect in the Rangers' organization, currently ranks in the top 10 for batting average (.415), on-base percentage (.447) and slugging percentage (.537). The 20-year-old from Sincelejo, Colombia, hit .300 with six home runs and nine doubles for Spokane in 2011.

Nicholas is batting .250 with a .648 OPS as a utility player in the fall league. The 25-year-old spent two seasons in Spokane from 2010-11, compiling a .262 average, 31 doubles, nine homers and a .415 on-base percentage.

The Spokane Indians open the 2014 regular season on Friday, June 13th at Avista Stadium against the Eugene Emeralds.

The Spokane Indians would like to thank all of our fans for their support during the record-setting 2013 season. The Indians are the Short Season Class "A" affiliate for the Texas Rangers.
