One Convicted, One Acquitted On Assault Charges

One Convicted, One Acquitted On Assault Charges

On October 30th, 2013, a Spokane County Superior Court jury convicted 48-year-old Dean Anders of 1st Degree Assault with a deadly weapon.  This was the result of an assault that took place near the area of Greenwood and Indian Canyon Dr. on March 6th, 2013.  The second suspect that was arrested, 55-year-old John Hill, was acquitted by the jury on all charges.
 
On the morning of March 7th, the victim called 911 and was located in his sleeping bag in People's Park suffering from numerous fractures, lacerations and bruises that were later determined to have been inflicted by a framing hammer.  The victim had identified his attackers as Anders and Hill to investigators.  Anders has prior convictions for child rape and is scheduled to be sentenced on November 15th.

She ran to her neighbor's house and the neighbor contacted the Pierce County Sheriff's Office at around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday. Arriving deputies spoke with the neighbor who called 911.

    PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Pennsylvania's highest court has ordered a judge to free rapper Meek Mill on bail while he appeals decade-old gun and drug convictions.    The Supreme Court directed a Philadelphia judge who had jailed him to immediately issue an order releasing him on unsecured bail.    Mill was sentenced in November to 2-4 years in prison for violating probation.

    MOUNT BETHEL, Pa. - A musician whose songs helped teach children on ABC's "Schoolhouse Rock" has died. His son, Chris, says 94-year-old Bob Dorough died of natural causes Monday at his home in Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania. According to his biography, the jazz musician "set the multiplication tables to music" as musical director for the educational cartoon series between 1973 and 1985. It was revived from 1993 to 1999.
