UPDATE: Search For Fugitive On Tubbs Hill Concludes; Suspect Still On The Loose

Coeur d'Alene Police Department Press Release: 

Coeur d'Alene Police Detectives are ending their search on Tubbs Hill for fugitive Douglas Standish. He has not been located at this time. It is possible the search will continue in the daylight hours tomorrow. The public will be notified if that occurs. If anyone has any information on the location of Standish please contact the police department at 208-769-2320 or on line at policetips@cdaid.org.

Police in Coeur d'Alene have the area of Tubbs Hill blocked off while they search for a suspected kidnapper. 

Douglas Standish is wanted for 1st Degree Kidnapping after police say he kidnapped a woman on Monday at gunpoint. Police believe Standish is hiding out somewhere on Tubbs Hill and they are considering him armed and dangerous. 

Right now the SWAT team is on scene. 

There are six homes on Tubbs Hill, and police have been able to contact two of them. They are working on contacting the other four. 

No one is allowed in or out of Tubbs Hill at this time.

    COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Coeur d'Alene Police are investigating a reported school shooting threat at Coeur d'Alene High School. A spokesperson for the district said that the threat was written on a napkin and shared  on Snapchat. It says: "CHS school shooting 10-19-18. Be ready." Police tell us that while they are still investigating whether the threat is credible, they do not believe the CHS that the note mentions is referring to Coeur d'Alene High School.

    Ramsey Elementary and Coeur d' Alene Police station have been evacuated after an explosive device was brought to the station for disposal. Police have called in a bomb squad to dispose of the device and evacuated the buildings as a precaution. Coeur d' Alene School District released the following statement regarding the situation:

    SPOKANE, Wash. - After struggling with medical issues recently, retired Spokane County Sheriff's Office K9 Laslo passed away early Friday morning.  "It is with the most heavy heart that I tell you K9 Laslo passed away this morning at 0115hrs," a post on Laslo's Facebook page said Friday morning. "There will be a piece of my heart always missing. To the best partner I ever had, R.I.P."

    A small plane ended up on a Long Island road after authorities say the aircraft ran off a runway. No one was injured. It happened around 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Lufker Airport, a small airfield in East Moriches. The Federal Aviation Administration says a Piper PA-28 landed but rolled off the runway onto the two-lane Montauk Highway, with two people aboard.

    ELKO, Nevada (AP) - President Donald Trump says he will pull United States from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia.    Trump says Moscow has violated the agreement, but provided no details.    The 1987 pact helps protect the security of the U.S. and its allies in Europe and the Far East. It prohibits the United States and Russia from possessing, producing or test-flying a ground-launched cruise missile with a range of 300 to 3,400 miles.

Spokane police and firefighters responded to the scene just after 11 a.m. Arriving crews found a crash involving an SUV and a white Corvette. Police say two people were injured in the crash and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
