Health Care Law Could Be Liability For Democrats

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Congressman Patrick Murphy is among the House Democrats distancing himself from the administration on the flawed health care rollout and heeding GOP calls to delay key parts of the law.

The lawmaker from South Florida illustrates the Democratic Party's challenge as it fights to keep control of the Senate and retake the House next year.

Nationwide, Democrats are nervous about the implications of defending an already unpopular law in the wake of the botched rollout, particularly in swing-voting districts and states.

Last week, 16 Senate Democrats talked with President Barack Obama about fears the problems could hamper their re-election prospects.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Many part of the West are dealing with drought. But nowhere else has more state and federal land been closed to recreation than in Arizona ahead of the Memorial Day holiday. With little snowpack and precipitation, conditions are ripe for massive wildfires.    The partial closures in a handful of Arizona's national forests represent a small percentage of the land overall. But they're putting a damper on camping, hiking, fishing and mountain bi...
