Watch John Collett's interview of Shadle Park's and Mt. Spokane's players and coaches before the two teams clash in the opening round of the State Playoffs on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. at Joe Albi Stadium.

Shadle Park enters the contest after demolishing Kennewick 48-7 last weekend. Highlander quarterback, Brett Rypien, threw for 224 yards and rushed for 21 more en route to four touchdowns passing and another rushing in the dominating victory.

Mt. Spokane hit the road to face Southridge and won in dramatic fashion when Mike Schupp scored on his fourth rushing TD of the game with 7.2 seconds left. Schupp rushed 4 times for 26 yards, all four carries going in for Wildcat scores, but it was quarterback Stu Stiles' 130 yards on the ground and 155 through the air who led Mt. Spokane to the win.

The first time these two teams squared off was back on Oct. 03, when Shadle Park topped the Wildcats 63-42. The same night Rypien set a Washington State High School record by passing for 613 yards and was a part of every Highlander score when threw for eight touchdowns and ran in another.

The game will air live on SWX at 6:00 p.m. on channel 6-2 and Comcast channel 306.
