Tonight: A mix of valley rain and snow (little or no accumulations around Spokane) and heavy high mountain snow is expected through the overnight hours. Winds will gust to 30 mph, combined with the snow in the mountains...means slow going for travelers. 35° YELLOW

Saturday: A wintry mix expected through the day...the higher benches (S. Hill, 5-Mile, Browns Mtn, Mica Peak) around the area will likely see snow on the grassy surfaces. 36°/35° YELLOW

 *Winter Storm Warnings* Remain in effect through Sunday morning for the Northern Panhandle. We could see up to 8" of new snow in the valleys and a possible 20" in the mountains. The Blue mountains of Oregon could see up to 18", Passes into North Idaho and Western Montana could see up to 2 feet of new snow by the end of the weakened. And the Cascades could see up to 18" .


*Winter Weather Advisories* Remain in effect through 4pm Saturday, with 2-4" below 3000 feet and up to 9 in the mountains.

    HONOLULU (AP) - Engineers say damage to the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu was worse than expected and it will remain closed indefinitely.    Hawaii News Now reports boat transportation to the attraction was suspended May 6 after one of the vessel operators noticed a crack on the outside of the memorial.

    MIAMI - An American Airlines passenger on a flight from Saint Croix to Miami caused a commotion in midair Wednesday when he was refused beer. The whole ordeal was caught on camera by a fellow passenger. The passenger, identified as Jason Felix in court documents, was on American Airlines flight 1293.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Firefighters report two people were hurt in a one-vehicle crash near Palouse Highway and Jamieson Road Sunday morning. The one-vehicle crash happened around 6 a.m. Sunday when the vehicle left the road. Responding fire crews  worked to get the two people out of the car and stabilize them before they were taken to an area hospital with moderate injuries.

(AP) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture is recalling more than 228,000 pounds of Spam and another product made by Minnesota-based Hormel after four consumers complained about metal objects in the food.    The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service says the canned chicken and pork in question was produced in February at the company's plant in Fremont, Nebraska.
