SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - An unlicensed 15 year old driver was driving at speeds up to 100 miles per hour when he crashed his vehicle into a large power pole leaving one of his passengers critically injured.

The crash happened in the 3700 of North Harvard Road in Spokane Valley around 11 last night.  A 14-year-old passenger who had minor injuries told police the speedometer read 100 just before the crash. He was released to his parents.  Authorities say they believe the vehicle lost control, slid sideways into the pole, which hit the front passenger side door.  The 17 year old boy sitting in the front passenger seat is in critical condition.  The 15 year old driver is in serious condition. Police say speed and inexperience both led to the wreck. Charges are pending.
